The Sanctuary is the holiest part of the church. It is here that the Mass is offered, the Tabernacle contains the Body of Christ, and the word of God is preached. The Sacred Vessels, used by the priest during the Mass and other ceremonies, contain the offerings of the people and the Body and Blood after the consecration. The Saints are the heroes of the faith, people who model the way we should live our lives to best follow the teachings of Christ. We keep statues and images of them to tell their stories and remind ourselves who they are. There are many parts of the church, besides the Sanctuary, where we confess our sins, welcome new members, pray, and meditate on the life of Christ and the examples of others. A Tour of the Church
